What we treat today
Tooth removal
When a tooth can't be saved, the dentist takes it out, and tells you what to do afterward.
The dentist tells you why a tooth can't be saved, and what the other choices were. Wisdom teeth and teeth that need surgery go to an oral surgeon, and we tell you who to call.

What happens
Usually one visit, and a call or a short check a few days later if you want one.
- 01
Step 1: The dentist explains what she sees
She shows you the X-ray and says why the tooth can't be saved.
- 02
Step 2: You get the estimate
In writing. It says what's included and what isn't.
- 03
Step 3: We numb the area and take the tooth out
You feel pressure, not sharp pain. Tell us if that changes.
- 04
Step 4: We give you after-care in writing
What to eat, what to avoid and when to call us.
Comfort, waiting and after-care
Comfort
We use local anesthetic and wait until the area is numb. Raise your hand and we stop. We don't offer sedation. If you need it, we refer you.
If you wait
A tooth that can't be saved can keep hurting and can become infected. The dentist tells you what each choice means, including leaving it for now.
Risks and after-care
Bleeding for the first day is common, and some swelling and soreness for a few days. A dry socket, where the clot is lost and the pain returns, is possible. The dentist explains the risks and gives you after-care instructions in writing.
How it's billed
You pay at the visit, after a written estimate. A tooth that needs surgery goes to an oral surgeon, whose office gives its own estimate.
How fees work
Questions about tooth removal
Will I need a replacement tooth?
That's your choice, and it doesn't have to be today. We tell you the options and who offers them.
Do you take out wisdom teeth?
Simple ones, sometimes. Most go to an oral surgeon, and the dentist tells you after she looks.
What should I eat afterward?
Soft, cool food for the first day or two, and nothing hot. You'll get written after-care instructions.
